Stephen L. Bushke

Stephen Louis Bushke June 26, 1941 – January 4, 2016 Steve Bushke passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 in New Port Richey, Florida, after a multiple-year battle with cancer. Mr. Bushke was born on June 26, 1941 to Clifford and Annette Bushke and grew up in Fox Lake, Wisconsin, where he was an avid sportsman, graduating from Fox Lake High School in 1959. He received his undergraduate degree in elementary education from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and his master’s degree in education administration from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. Throughout his 30+ year career in education, he served the community as a volunteer, teacher, principal, and superintendent at several locations throughout Wisconsin, including Iowa-Grant School District and Southwestern Wisconsin Community School District; concluding his career at Mayville Community School District. Mr. Bushke married Erna Jean Hermann on October 21, 1961, and together they had five children and six grandchildren. In addition to teaching and spending time with his children, Mr. Bushke enjoyed golfing, hunting, and being a fan to his grandchildren’s many sports activities. Mr. Bushke is preceded in death by his son, Bradley Louis Bushke, and his parents Clifford and Annette Doornek Bushke. Mr. Bushke will live on through his many family and friends, including his wife of 54 years Erna Hermann Bushke (Beaver Dam, Wisconsin); children Beth Bushke (St. Louis, Missouri), Bart and Jina Bushke (Kiel, Wisconsin), Burt and Tammy Bushke (Mayville, Wisconsin), and Becky Bushke and David Bloedow (Beaver Dam, Wisconsin); grandchildren Cassie Biertzer, Madison and Taylor Bushke, and Kayla, Morgan, and Bradley Bushke; and sister DiAnn Bushke Hillerman. Mr. Bushke was a well-loved brother-in-law, uncle, and dear friend to many. Arrangements pending at Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home in Fox Lake, Wisconsin ( ).
