d. September 25, 2020

REST IN PEACE Rose Cillis Pafundi, 91, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on September 25 at her home in Palm Harbor, Florida. She was surrounded by her immediate family. Rose was a retired postal worker who enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, playing cards, watching game shows and spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She was an excellent cook who always enjoyed making a “Rosie Meal” for her family and friends, whether that was lasagna, chicken cacciatore or a variety of other Italian favorites. Rose was born on Dec. 28, 1928, in Corona, Queens, New York. She was the daughter of Donato and Mary Cillis, who immigrated to the United States from Pietragalla, Italy, in the early 1900s. She loved her Italian heritage and enjoyed the many trips she took to visit relatives with her beloved husband, Joseph, who died in 2005. Rose was a loving mother to Ted and Madeline and an adoring grandmother to Jason and Brian. In recent years, she cherished every moment being Nonna to Nathaniel, Evan and Lydia. Rose is survived by her sister, Angela Mary Famulari; her daughter, Madeline Pafundi; her son, Ted (Barbara) Pafundi; her grandson Jason (Kirstin) Pafundi; her grandson Brian Pafundi; and her great-grandchildren Nathaniel, Evan and Lydia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins from around the country and in Italy. Viewing will be held on Sunday, September 27, at Morgan Funeral Home, 6025 Trouble Creek Rd., in New Port Richey, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace in New Port Richey at 12 p.m. on Monday, September 28. Interment will be at Meadowlawn Cemetery in New Port Richey.
