George E. Perry

August 29, 1936 — June 25, 2024

New Port Richey

George Elmer Perry died on June 25, 2024. Family members were with him at the time of his death. He had been in the care of Empath Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, Florida.

George E. Perry was born on August 25, 1936, in Dover General Hospital, to his parents Almeda Elizabeth Best Perry and George Samuel Perry. The family lived in Netcong, New Jersey for many years. George E. Perry lived in Morristown, NJ for some time before returning to Netcong, where he lived until he relocated in retirement to New Port Richey, Florida.

George E. Perry was married to Florence (Bubbles) LeGrande Ely Perry, who predeceased him on March 3, 2022. Together they had seven children, Lisa Smith, Lynn Walshe, George L. Perry, Mark Perry, Florence M. Perry, David Perry, and Jennifer Lwowski. The family line continues with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

George E. Perry retired from AT&T Long Lines, and continued to work in the telecommunications field in several capacities for many years after his official "retirement". He always had a woodworking project going, even while working fulltime, but woodworking was only one of his talents. His children used to say, "My father can fix anything". If he couldn't do something on his own, he found the person who would help him, and teach him while he worked alongside them. He was an accomplished outdoorsman, and loved hunting and fishing from a young age. He loved to checker and finish gun stocks, and was a patron of Silver Dollar Shooters Club in Odessa, Florida.

A memorial service will be held at a future date in Netcong, NJ, with interment in Stanhope Union Cemetery.
