Frank D. Stevens, 88, of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Loraine, Mendon, and Quincy, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Marliere Hospice House in New Port Richey. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born in 1935 in Loraine, Illinois to Everett and Buna (Kelly) Stevens. Frank married Bobbette “Bobbi” Reichert on July 3, 1958, at Our Redeemer Lutheran church in Quincy, Illinois; they were married 65 years. She survives and lives in New Port Richey.

Frank graduated from Unity High School in 1953 where he was the football quarterback and played basketball. Frank and Bobbi met when she was in high school, and they married the next year.

Frank owned Stevens Construction Co. in Illinois and was later employed by CASE Power & Equipment in Florida. He was an avid golfer and pilot, and he enjoyed flying, RV’ing, grilling, and working with his hands. He could build and fix just about anything. He loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife, Bobbi; three daughters, Kimberly Searson of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Kathy Stevens (Robin Massaker) of Homosassa, Florida, Kelly (John) Shafer of Waynesville, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Shane Searson of Jupiter, Florida, Blake (Abigail) Shafer of Clemson, South Carolina, Lauren Shafer of Waynesville, North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fred Stevens of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Camp Point, Illinois; a sister, Ruby Shupe of Mendon, Illinois; and a granddaughter Brittney Searson of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Morgan Funeral Home in New Port Richey, Florida is handling the arrangements. Interment will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens cemetery in Trinity, Florida. A memorial service will be held in his honor later this year.

Memorials may be made to the Marliere Hospice House or the Alzheimer's Association.
