David A Meyer

David Alexander Meyer, 22, of Tarpon Springs, Florida and formerly of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away at his home on July 7, 2024. He was born October 25, 2001. David attended Father McGivney Catholic High School in Maryville, Illinois and later received his high school diploma from IVL Academy in 2020. He had an abundant love of nature, loved visiting any national park whether it be in the majestic mountains or by the beautiful oceans and streams. He loved hiking and biking and taking it all in. He also had a love for animals and cherished his dogs, Maple and Jersey. David was also a member of the Tampa Bay Riders Facebook group and had an interest in motorcycles and sports cars. He had a creative and free spirit and enjoyed all genres of music, many forms of art and singing. David will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.

He is survived and will deeply be missed by his parents, Stephen W. and Marlo M. (Christian) Meyer of Tarpon Springs, Florida; his sister, Lauren E.Meyer of Edwardsville, Illinois; grandparents, Don and Marie Meyer of Springfield, Missouri and Rita and Terry Ortman of Parrish, Florida; many aunts; uncles; cousins; other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alex Christian. In celebration of his life, a memorial gathering will be held at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, Illinois on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 1:00 p.m until 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, Illinois at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024, with Father Rob Johnson as celebrant. Services in Florida are pending and David will be laid to rest at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Trinity, Florida at a later date.
