Rosemary Ann Smith

March 10, 1970 — November 7, 2023

New Port Richey

Rosemary “Rosie” Ann Smith, 53, of New Port Richey, Florida (formerly of Newport, Rhode Island) passed on November 7th, 2023, in New Port Richey, Florida. Rosie was born in Newport, Rhode Island. She has joined her mother Karen Smith and brother Jimmy Smith in heaven along with her grandparents Arthur and Grace Dennis.

Rosie is survived by her father, William (Pete) Smith, stepmother Lydia Smith of New Port Richey, Florida; her brothers Petey Smith of Miami, Jason Smith and Brandon Rossi of Newport Rhode Island.  Her sisters, Lisa Simmons of Newport Rhode Island and Antoinette (Toni) Cook of New Port Richey, Florida.

Rosie was a spectacular mother and leaves behind her daughter, Myriah McMurray of New Port Richey and her sons, Kyle McMurray of Boston and Dakota Smith of Maine, as well as her 3 grandchildren Brylee, Bryson and Brielle Tourigny of Maine.  Rosie was a fun-loving person who wore her heart on her sleeve.  She was a great cook, a spectacular mother and a loving sister. She was full of piss and vinegar and was taken from this world far too soon. Rosie attended Alternate Learning program (ALP) and went on later to get her high school diploma in 1989 from Rogers High School in Newport Rhode Island.

She was a chef at Fred's Old Place in Newport and a server at Chelsea's Restaurant for many years and many other restaurants around town.  She worked at Pam's Restaurant in Florida.  Rosie will be greatly missed. There will be a memorial mass in Florida and a celebration of life in March at the FOP in Middletown

In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated and a Go Fund ME! Page has been created to help assist the family with burial services.   See http://gofund.me/221ca7cf.
